subROV: Underwater Discoveries is a submarine exploration game where you learn to operate an ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle), and embark on dives the world around. You will chart unknown regions, sample hydrothermal vents, find ship wrecks, and study aquatic species along the water column. You are in complete control of every aspect of the dive that you embark on, from navigating an oceanic research vessel, to deploying and operating a full-ocean-depth rated ROV equipped with an array of advanced tools. Begin as a trainee and earn your certificate to become a full-fledged pilot and take on dives to explore and discover the many fascinating sights and mysteries of the deep ocean Choose from multiple dives with varied objectives, charting the seafloor and performing scientific observations. Control an oceanographic vessel, a full-ocean-depth rated ROV, and an array of advanced tools including sonar, AI-assisted scanner, articulated arm, temperature sensors, landers, and sediment corers. Rendezvous with ocean buoys and download scientific data and information on new points of interest.

At first glance you might consider the graphics a bit of a negative, and whilst it is true that we’re not looking at ground-breaking next gen graphics here, they do enough to help convey the gameplay experience & the gameplay experience is a moreish affair where unexpe cted discoveries can lead on to additional potentially even more intriguing discoveries. You will, after completing the small number of tutorials, which require a small but manageable learning curve, be heading off on one of 6 missions across the planets oceans. Each mission begins on the waves in your support vessel; where you will be tasked with sailing to and deploying your ROV in order to achieve set objectives. As you plunge every deeper into the depths of the ocean, you can encounter numerous underwater anomalies that you can scan and document for additional XP. Using a combination of controls, lights and sonar scanners you can expect to see new coral or animal species and occasionally something even cooler than that.
